If you want to create show-stopping images for your website, Canva is a lifesaver.
You can create reusable templates, upload your own photos, and download images in a variety of formats.
(Fun fact: We use Canva to create our article images, like the one above!)
If you’re creating a text-based image, a great way to make it stand out is by making the text curve around. This is especially cool if you have a circle that you want to bend your text around, like the logo below that’s available on Canva.
And the great thing is that you can do this in less than two minutes. Here’s how to curve a text in Canva in three simple steps.
How to make text curve in Canva
Step 1: Create an account
First you need to create a free Canva account if you don’t have one – if you already have an account you can go to the next step.
Go to Canva and click Sign Up in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
You can sign up with an existing account (like Google, Apple, or Facebook) or with an email address. Follow the on-screen prompts to create your account.
Depending on the method you choose, you might need to verify your email address, so make sure you have access.
Step 2: Create your text
Canva can feel a little daunting if you’re new to it, just as there are many options to choose from. Here’s how to get started quickly:
Select the red Social Media icon
Click Instagram Post (Square)
This will load the Canva designer.
Next, go to the vertical menu on the left-hand side of the page and choose Text.
Choose your font or a predesigned font combination and click. The text will appear on the blank document.
Double-click on the text and replace it with your own. You can resize and move the text by clicking and dragging.
Step 3: Make it curve!
Finally, the fun part!
Select your text and you’ll see a menu appear at the top of the page. This menu allows you to change the font, color, and justification of the text.
Click on Effects and this will open a new menu on the left of the page.
Go to the bottom of the menu, and under Shape, click on Curve.
This will automatically add a curve to your text. You can change the intensity of the curve by moving the slider down to zero. If you move the slider past zero, your text will curve upwards rather than downwards.
When you’re happy with your text, you can download it by clicking the Share button in the top-right-hand corner and choosing Download.
Canva saves your work automatically, so you can return to it later if you need to.
And that’s it! You now know how to curve text in Canva.
