How to Create a Quiz on Your Squarespace Site (2 Easy Ways)

Adding a quiz to your website can be a fantastic way to engage with customers, find out more about them, and generate leads for your business.

There isn’t a dedicated Squarespace feature for creating and displaying a quiz, but it can be done!

Here are two simple ways to make a quiz that gets people clicking!

How to create a quiz on Squarespace

Option 1: Use a form block

With this option, you can use a form block in Squarespace to create a basic quiz or poll. For example, if you want to ask people’s opinions about an article or see if people have understood the content in one of your courses.

To get started, go to the page you want to add your quiz to and click EDIT.

Go to where you want to add your quiz on the page and click the blue plus sign (+) to add a block. Choose Form.

Here you can:

  • Decide which questions are mandatory

  • Add a text field, dropdown menu, radio button, or email address field

  • Change how your form looks and displays. For example, you can change the button style, open the form in a lightbox, or change the background color of the form

  • Change the text on your submit button

  • Show a message that will appear once someone completes your form or redirect them to another page

  • Create a form name – this will appear on any email submissions

  • Choose which email address you want to send responses to

You can also connect the form to a third-party service like Google Sheets or Zapier to collect responses.

Bear in mind that this method doesn’t offer conditional logic and won’t display quiz results for participants.

However, if you want a quiz that’s more complex, there are other options…

Option 2: Use a Squarespace quiz plugin

The second option is to use a Squarespace quiz plugin. You can embed these plugins into your Squarespace site, and they’ll automatically track the results for you.

One of our favorites at Spark Plugin is Opinion Stage.

The great thing about Opinion Stage is that it can handle all types of quizzes, from basic ones to ones with complex logic and weighted questions. It will also track responses and show you exactly how people have voted.

You can create a quiz from scratch or use a template. There’s even an AI option where you can build a complete quiz in less than 60 seconds based on a handful of prompts.

Create your quiz, copy the embed code, and paste it into a code block on your Squarespace site. That’s all there is to it!

Embedding a quiz in Squarespace

Opinion Stage is free if you get fewer than 25 quiz responses a month, so you can try it out and see if it’s right for your needs before you commit to the paid version.
