How to add a Squarespace logo carousel

Step 1: Add Spark Plugin to your website

The first step to adding scrolling logos to Squarespace is to add Spark Plugin to your website.

(If you’ve already installed Spark Plugin, skip this step and move to step two!)

When you sign up for Spark Plugin, you’ll get a small piece of JavaScript to add to your website. Click Website, Website Tools, and Code Injection.

Paste your code into the header box and click Save.

You’ll know that the code has worked as you’ll see a small ‘K’ icon in the top right-hand corner of your site.

Step 2: Assemble your logos

Next, it’s time to compile the logos you’ll want to add to your carousel.

Make sure your logos are a similar size—a tool like I love IMG is useful for ensuring everything is consistent.

You can upload any type of image format to Squarespace. I recommend uploading your logos as PNGs as you can ensure they have a transparent background.

This means you can change the background color of your carousel without worrying about your logos having a white frame around them.

You can add up to 250 logos to a Squarespace logo carousel, although bear in mind that the more logos you add, the slower your carousel will be.

We’ll add the images in the next step, so pop them in a folder on your desktop for now.

Step 3: Create a carousel

Go to the page you want to add a carousel to and click on the blue ADD SECTION button.

Add section button

Choose the type of section you want to use as the basis for your carousel. The only criterion is that it must be an auto layout section – these sections are marked with an i.

When you click, your carousel will automatically be added to your page. Hover over your carousel and click Edit content and Content to replace the images with your own from step 2.

(Don’t worry about the text in the carousel; this won’t appear in the final version.)

Step 4: Make it Scroll!

When you’ve added your logos to your carousel, click on the Spark Plugin logo in the top right-hand corner of the page. This will open up the Spark Plugin customization menu.

Before you toggle anything in this menu, make sure you’ve clicked on the section of your page containing the carousel – this will highlight it in red.

Then toggle the scrolling logo carousel button to transform your carousel and make it move.

Click Publish and that’s all there is to it – enjoy your cool new scrolling logo carousel!
