Squarespace Landing Page: The Ultimate Guide (5 Templates + Examples)

How to create a landing page on Squarespace - The Ultimate Guide

A Squarespace landing page are great for capturing high-quality leads and generating more sales.

Because landing pages are focused on a single goal, they convert more traffic than regular web pages. The restricted navigation and links keep visitors focused on the goal rather than getting distracted by several links that take them away from the page.

A dedicated landing page on Squarespace is also a traffic destination, and visitors are more likely to become buyers when a high-quality advertisement offers a single offer.

Thanks to Squarespace’s ease of use, it’s an excellent tool to create landing pages with.

In this guide, I’ll show you how to create a landing page in Squarespace in no time. Let’s take a look!

What is a Landing Page?

A landing page is a separate web page designed expressly for a marketing or advertising campaign. It's the location where a visitor "lands" after clicking on a link in an email or ads from Google, Bing, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or your website.

Unlike web pages, which usually have multiple aims and promote research, landing pages have a single goal, referred to as a call to action (CTA). More on that later.

Landing pages are the ideal alternative for raising the conversion rates of your marketing campaigns and minimizing the cost of gaining a lead or sale because of this concentration.

How do you attract traffic to your landing page? You have to make it rank on Google – this is where SEO steps in. Apart from using target keywords in your copy, you have to do link-building. While it is hard, Adsy does a great job at securing do-follow links from the best websites.

5 Squarespace Landing Page Examples

Let’s take a look at a few Squarespace landing page examples, but first, what makes a good landing page? In general, a good landing page contains the following three elements:

  • Heading. A powerful heading, with a subheading that outlines the offer and clarifies the heading copy.

  • Visuals. An illustration, video, or graphic that supports the offer.

  • CTA. A form or call-to-action button that allows the user to convert.

1. ExpressVPN

Noticed how ExpressVPN has the text “Get ExpressVPN” on quite a few places? They have gone all-in with the strategy of removing unnecessary buttons and links. The CTAs also stick out from the rest of the design thanks to their contrasting color.

2. Uber

Landing pages don’t have to be loaded with content to be good. This landing page from Uber shows exactly that. It has a black-and-white color scheme, short and easy-to-understand words, and a straightforward form.

Canva uses this attractive design to give visitors a good first impression. Most of what Canva did is only possible to do with plugins/tools, so I made a guide listing all the best plugins for Squarespace.

5. Airbnb

Airbnb is the last landing page example on my list. They added a calculator to their landing page, to estimate the average earnings based on location. A cool feature to keep visitors on their page.

How to Optimize a Squarespace Landing Page

Optimizing the Squarespace landing page is crucial for its success. A well-optimized landing page can easily get twice the conversions of a poorly optimized landing page. Below are my top tips on how to optimize a landing page to get more conversions.

1. Draw Attention to the CTA

A call to action (CTA) encourages visitors to take action, such as signing up for a newsletter, downloading a demo, or purchasing a product. The CTA can take the shape of a clickable button or hyperlinked text, and it's found right on the page or sometimes on pop-up forms.

The CTA must stand out on your Squarespace landing page since it’s where the users convert. You’ll want to make sure that the CTA uses a contrasting color and a clear message. Adding an attention-seeking effect to the CTA will also increase the conversion.

2. Removing Navigation From a Squarespace Landing Page

Ideally, landing pages should only have clickable CTAs, and no other buttons or links. Other buttons and links can distract the visitor from converting through the CTAs. This means that you should remove the navigation from the landing page.

How to remove the navigation from a single page in Squarespace:

  1. Click “Pages” in Squarespace.

  2. Hover the page name and click on the gear icon.

  3. Click “Advanced” and paste in the code below.

<style>
.header-nav, .header-actions, .header-burger { display: none }
</style>

The navigation is now removed from the landing page!

3. Make a Powerful Heading

When a visitor lands on your Squarespace page, the first thing he or she sees is the headline. If your headline makes a good first impression, the visitor will stay; if it makes a poor first impression, they will leave.

Here’s how to make a powerful heading:

  • Relevance. Make sure the heading is relevant and empathize with the visitor’s problem. You’ll want to convince them that their problem can be solved with your solution.

  • Clarity. Be straight to the point. Shortening the heading is often a great way to increase its clarity.

  • Readability. Marking some words in your heading with another style will make it look shorter and easier to read. Click here to add a custom heading style to your landing page or website.

Wrapping Up

Now you know how to create a landing page on Squarespace, and how to optimize it to get more conversions.

As a rule of thumb, if the landing page is visually appealing and elements draw attention, the visitors will be more likely to convert. Just think for yourself when you’re visiting an ugly web page, you are less likely to buy or sign up to that website, aren’t you?

There are tons of customizations for Squarespace online, but it can often be time-consuming and not look that good in the end. I would recommend my own tool Spark Plugin as you can have 100+ customizations in only one installation. It’ll give your Squarespace landing page a nice boost in conversions.
