Here’s how to delete your Squarespace account in less than 60 seconds.

How to delete your Squarespace account

Step 1: Go to your dashboard

Go to account.squarespace.com which hosts all your Squarespace sites.

Click on Account Settings, which is in the top right-hand corner of your dashboard.

Step 2: Delete your Squarespace account

Select Account and security on the left-hand side of the menu.

Select the red Delete Account link in the right-hand side of the box.

You will be asked to verify your Squarespace login to prove it’s you.

Step 3: Cancel any subscriptions

You’ll need to cancel any active Squarespace subscriptions before you delete your account. For example, Squarespace trials and marketing tools like Squarespace Email Campaigns.

You can cancel most of these directly from this menu. If not, Squarespace will tell you how to cancel them.

Step 4: Say goodbye to Squarespace

When you’ve canceled your subscriptions, the DELETE ACCOUNT link below your email address will activate.

Click it, confirm, and you’ve deleted your Squarespace account.

Can I recover my account once it’s deleted?

No, you can’t recover your account.

You can create a new account using the same email address though.

What will happen to my websites?

You won’t be able to recover any websites that you own. If you want to keep them active, transfer ownership to someone else before you delete your Squarespace account.

Websites you don’t directly own won’t be affected. If you’ve contributed blogs to another website, the blogs you’ve written will stay online but convert to basic author status.
