How to Add an RSVP Form to Your Squarespace Wedding Website

Squarespace is a fantastic choice if you want to create a wedding website for your upcoming nuptials.

It’s easy to set up and edit, you can show off all your photos and videos, and best of all, you can build a form to get all those RSVPs from friends and family.

(Because you’ve got better things to do than chase up people to see if they’re coming or not!)

You can create a Squarespace RSVP in two different ways. Here’s how to set up an RSVP form for your site.

Need some additional inspiration? Here’s a list of some of our favorite Squarespace wedding websites and templates!

How to create a Squarespace wedding RSVP

Option 1: Build one in Squarespace

For this Squarespace RSVP, you’re going to create a form on your website.

Start by going to the page you want to add your wedding RSVP to and clicking EDIT.

(Top tip: Why not add your Squarespace RSVP to your website footer so it’s visible on every page?)

Click the blue plus sign to add a block on your page, and choose Form in the menu.

Once you’ve done this, you can customize your RSVP to your requirements. I’ve mocked up a basic form below, but you can make yours as simple or complicated as you need it to be.

Here are the options available to you.

Content

  • Change the name of your form

  • Change the button text

  • Edit your form fields—you can add text fields, checkboxes, and drop-down menus. You can also make fields mandatory

  • Edit the message which appears after the form is submitted

Design

  • Change the style of the form fields

  • Change the style and alignment of the button

  • Put your form in a lightbox or add a background or border

Storage

  • Change the email address where you’ll get a message when someone completes your form

  • Connect storage tools like Google Drive, Zapier, and Mailchimp. For example, with their permission, you can add respondents to a Mailchimp mailing list to keep them updated about your wedding plans!

  • Add a reCAPTCHA to stop bots from filling in your form

  • You can also view and manage your existing responses

If you need to go back and edit your form, just hover over it in edit mode and click the black pen icon.

Here’s another top tip—you can use Spark Plugin to customize your wedding RSVP to make it stand out! For example, why not animate your ‘submit’ button to catch the eye?
