How to Create a Squarespace Testimonial Slider (Without Code!)

How to Create a Squarespace Testimonial Slider (Without Code!)

It’s official – if you want to get people to discover the products or services on your Squarespace website, testimonials are worth their weight in gold!

Think about if you want to check out a new restaurant in your town. The first thing you’ll do is check out the reviews to discover what the food and service are like. The same logic applies to your business. If prospective customers read lots of glowing feedback from satisfied customers, they will likely want to find out more.

In fact, 70% of people will trust a recommendation from someone, even if they don’t know them personally. So create a Squrespace testimonial slider showcasing the best reviews from happy customers, and web users will come and check you out.

Let’s say you want to add a testimonial slider to your Squarespace website, but you don’t know code like CSS or JavaScript. The good news is that you can add a Squarespace testimonial slider in a couple of easy, code-free steps!

Here’s how to get started.

How to create a code-free Squarespace testimonial slider

You can take advantage of auto layouts in Squarespace to present content in a particular way. We’re going to use them to create a basic Squarespace testimonial slider.

1. First, go to the page you want to add your Squarespace testimonial slider to. This can be your homepage, a products page, anywhere you like.

2. Click Edit on the page and then click Add Section

3. Select Testimonials and choose the layout you want to use. This will generate a testimonial slider for you.

4. You can determine whether you want your testimonial to display an image, title, body of text, or call-to-action button. Go to Edit Content and Elements, where you can toggle what you want to show.

5. Your newly generated testimonial slider will contain demo content; you’ll want to replace this with your own testimonials. To do this, click Edit Content, then Content.

6. Click Add to create a new testimonial or Items to edit an existing one. You can also rearrange the order of your testimonials by clicking and dragging them, or delete them by clicking the trash can icon.

The only issue with the auto layouts carousel is that there’s not much you can do to style it in Squarespace. You can adjust the font and spacing and what you want to display, but that’s about it.

However, you can use code-free tweaks to make your testimonial slider look much better – read on to find out more!

Now the fun part! It’s time to customize your Squarespace testimonial slider to match the look and feel of your website.

You can do this without using code with Spark Plugin. Just choose the style you want and it will be live on your Squarespace site in just a few clicks.

All Spark Plugin customizations are mobile responsive and look stylish no matter which browser your visitors use. Plus, you can use them on your galleries and blogs too.

Here are three of my favorite designs:

1. Inset

Overlay your testimonial with an eye-catching image, perhaps the logo of the business you carried out work for, or a photo of what you did for them.

2. Glassmorphism

If you’re a fan of the Apple minimalist style, you’ll love this design. It adds an opaque overlay over your image to give your testimonial a stylish twist.

3. Card

Add an image card to your testimonial slider. This one is great if you have lots of positive feedback you want to show off!

You can tweak all three of these customizations until they’re styled to your liking. Experiment and see which one looks the best on your site!

I hope you found this guide to adding a Squarespace testimonial slider to your website useful.

A testimonial slider is a brilliant way to showcase all the great things people say about your business. And what’s more, you can set up a fantastic one without knowing a scrap of code!

You can have as many testimonials as you want, but if it helps, three-quarters of customers read six or fewer testimonials before deciding to purchase.
